X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

NewstalkZB
is reporting that the Hugh Jackman-fueled spin off will wrap in April
instead of March. The publication stated, “The company making the $100
million blockbuster, Woz Productions, has applied to vary their
resource consent. It wants to extend their filming period from March to
April, as well as double their helicopter movements from 10 to 40 each
day.”

SMALLVILLE

According to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello
(who, coincidentally, graduated from USC in 1995, just like this
column’s writer), actress Jane Seymour will not reprise her role of
Gienevieve Teague for the final season seven episode “Veritas” due to
scheduling conflict.

HELLBOY 3

Actor Doug Jones told IF Magazine
that sequels are already planned beyond “The Golden Army.” “The third
movie was talked about the entire time,” Jones said. “In fact,
Guillermo has been talking about ‘Hellboy 1, 2, and 3′ since we were
filming ‘Hellboy’. He said he had three ‘Hellboy’ movies in him then.
Now, as the footage was being edited and put together and the studio
was getting more and more excited about what they were seeing, now
weÕre all excited for ‘Hellboy 4, 5, and 6′ even! If it can keep going
why not? I canÕt speak for everyone, but I did here lots of speculation
about how long this can go. ItÕs very exciting. So we donÕt want to put
limits on it if we can help it.”

MARVEL ZOMBIES

A story at Shock Till You Drop notes a rumor that there’s a direct-to-DVD animated feature planned, based on the hit Robert Kirkman comics.

Y: THE LAST MAN

Director DJ Caruso told USA Today
that the film adaptation of the Brian K. Vaughan could be a trilogy,
that the first film will cover the first 14 issues of the comics. He
adds that this opens the door for a trilogy. “For me, thematically, the
most important thing and the reason I want to do this is — I don’t
want to say it’s the end of the innocence, but it’s actually a
man-child who has to become a real man now,” Caruso says. “I think it’s
a really simple, beautiful theme, but at the same time, the movie’s
really pop-culture entertainment.” Thanks to Jeff Ward for emailing us
about that.

G.I. JOE

IESB is claiming that actor David Murray will play the man behind the beryllium steel mask, James McCullen Destro.

Meanwhile, Latino Review
claims that comics writer Larry Hama will will join the staff as a
creative consultant … and that Devil’s Due has lost the G.I. Joe
license? What’s up with that?

THE BATMAN

Comics2Film has details about the next new episode of the animated series.

WGA STRIKE WATCH: DAY EIGHTY-SEVEN

With the closed-door informal talks going on between the AMPTP and the WGA, the only news today is a rumor from Deadline Hollywood Daily’s Nikki Finke, claiming that “things are looking good.”

LET’S DO LUNCH

We can’t do this
without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos — they’re all
fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask,
“What do you mean your sister’s dating somebody who works for Miles
Millar?” The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour
city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just
like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know,
and whether you want your name shouted to the web’s rafters or kept
closer than a classified report, we’ve got you covered like a
comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble
scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and
[tagline redacted until the WGA strike is resolved].
