Evil Magicians- and the Counter-spell

Evil Magicians- and the Counter-spell

Who are the Evil Magicians? They are the ones who use the psychology of persuasion to cause you to do things that are not in your best interest.

For example- when you see an athlete promoting an automobile, you’re seeing a psychological principle in operation.

In your mind, you already have a relationship with the athlete. If he tells you to buy a certain automobile, he sets up a quandry for you- to retain your relationship with the athlete, you have to believe what he says. If you use your critical thinking ability to question what he’s saying, you run the risk of losing your relationship with the athlete- and you value that relationship.

Now, the relationship is all in your mind- but, so is the entire universe. Your perception of the world is the only real world you’ve got.

You don’t want to lose your relationship with that athlete- he’s your athlete. You cheer for him when he plays inside your television. You feel good when he wins. You feel sad when he loses.

He’s never heard of you, by the way. Again, the Evil Magicians are using their magic to take advantage of your trance. Really, in what way does aptitude with the hoops prepare an athlete to be an expert on automobiles?

If you’re feeling a little superior- you don’t pay any attention to athletes- remember that this trick will work with any hero. One of my favorite artists, Peter Max, did a commercial for a credit card company. Many actors, authors, playwrights, and other “heroes” augment their income by shilling for products.

Hit them in the face with the counter-spell… I’ll tell you in a minute.

Do you know who people buy from?

People they like.

Who do people like?

People like them.

That’s another psychological principle called, oddly enough, the principle of “liking.”

Check out the soft drink commercials. Look at how the actors are dressed, and how they talk. there is usually a group of them, and they’re carefully wardrobed and coached to appeal to a segment of the market.

The Evil Magicians are trying to get you to put yourself in their picture. Watch the car commercials- but outside of your trance.

Notice how the “family” cars are advertised with “families,” Sports cars are advertised using actors who look young and single.

They’re trying to catch you in your trance and get you to put yourself in the picture- which will cause a feeling of discomfort until you actually buy the product to complete the picture.

You need the counter-spell…

********

Let’s talk about politicians and preachers…

no, let’s don’t.

My goal is to help you think critically about all aspects of your life. Question everything.

Open up a can of “counter-spell” on them.

*******

When I originally posted the first half of this article, I received a lot of email.

I received a grand total of two (2) emails from subscribers who pointed out, “isn’t it a bit hypocritical of you to try to warn us about evil magicians on the one hand, and sell us stuff on the other?”

That’s an example of critical thinking. I approve.

I even had one email from a subscriber who informed me that lying politicians are “just doing their job.”

I wonder what color the trees are on the planet he’s from?

I will occasionally offer you things that I think will help you on your trip to financial, psychological and spiritual freedom. That’s where we’re headed, isn’t it?

******

The counter-spell.

What weapon can you possibly use against the highly trained, highly paid, evil magicians that are casting spells on you from all sides?

What can you use to draw a circle of white light around yourself, to ward off the psychological tricksters who are trying to use your trance to take your money?

Knowledge.

That and a healthy sense of curiosity.

Dr. Milton Erickson was the original wizard, who came up with most of the psychological tricks that advertisers are using today.

Bandler and Grinder, the guys who started NLP (neuro linguistic programming) were a couple of his students.

There have been others who have built on his work, including me.

To learn how to recognize psychological operations (psy-ops) when they’re aimed at you, by advertisers, wingnuts, politicians- you’re going to have to do a little homework. It will be the most rewarding homework you ever do, because once you learn to recognize these nasty little tricks, you’re immune.

You might even use them yourself.

I put together an audio course that teaches the principles of persuasion in about an hour. It’s called “Influence 101.”

That’s how you learn the counter-spells. That’s how you protect yourself.

That’s how you learn the essential psychological principles fast.

There’s no cost to read about it, and when you buy it, if you’re not delighted, you can get your money back immediately.
