Model Trains

The model train set. What kid did not want one for Christmas? I remember my brother’s set of Lionel O gauge trains! Cars, tracks and engines all kept in cardboard boxes until he wanted to set up the track and play with the trains. Now I wish our Mom hadn’t thrown them out!

His trains went the same way as my comic books! Clearing the attic, Mom would put our stuff out for sale on the carport (yes we had yard sales in the 1970′s!) marked at a nickel or penny apiece. Mom got rid of our stuff but not the collector’s drive to keep the stuff!

In my case I managed to go back to comic books several times over the last 30 years, but my brother…… He went back to trains in a big way.

Dedicating an entire room to layouts and tracks and trains, he has created a miniature landscape in HO scale with all the trimmings!
