    this is not a good improvment i still dont get it u dont say anything or tell ur whe=at to do i do not like this video ur only explaining what u r useing

  7. tjw1963 says:

    @ibenzava You will slip stitch in to the beginning stitch to join. I like to wrap the yarn over making one more loop, cut the yarn, pull the tail through, then give it a good tug to make sure it is secure.

  8. ibenzava says:

    How do you close the last loop at the end?

  9. tjw1963 says:

    @peachesndreams1 Keep in mind you that the terms in the UK are different.

  10. peachesndreams1 says:

    @madebyhandOoO Treble crochet is actually a term meaning triple crochet. Double is double. ;)

  11. peachesndreams1 says:

    After the first circle of of double crochet, do you join it in the beginning chain by going in the back loop only (as if you were slip stitch joining) or do you go through both loops (aka the whole crochet stitch or V) Thanks!! :)

    Thank you soo much for showing this..i was soo confused….this really helped me.

  13. ThaiAsianGirl says:

  14. tjw1963 says:

    @bluesuew Please keep in mind that you have pause and rewind. This video was made over two years ago when I was limited to 10 minute uploads. I did the best I could at the time, with the tools I had available.

  15. bluesuew says:

    Thank you for showing the basic start of the square, but when you started the outer square, it did get confusing, as you did go pretty fast after that, please remember that we are only beginning with these fantastic crafts, and we don’t want to be put off. After saying that, I did learn to do the starters of the square, but had to start again, after doing an hexagon, and a wobbly round, lol. Then I finally cracked it with a proper square

  21. FidldlersGreen says:

    Excellent demonstration! After a a multitude of several failed attempts (nearly 20 years); I was able to crochet a successful Granny Square. Thank you for all of your time and efforts.

  22. tjw1963 says:

    @harmonykieding OK, let me know if you need help finding other videos.

  23. harmonykieding says:

    @harmonykieding Apologies! I just located your other video called 3-sided Solid Motif Triangle, so I’ve answered my own question.

  24. harmonykieding says:

    How would you do a solid granny triangle that would match this solid granny square? I’m making a project using solid granny squares and need to make about six triangles, but I want them to match the solid look… and thank you for your videos! Great tutorials, all of them.

  25. tjw1963 says:

    @ehna22 I am glad that you got it.

  26. Silveirta says:

    @tkettle89 That’s why it’s referred to as a crochet “pattern” lol. x]

  27. Silveirta says:

    @LeaveCCrockerAlone I guess someone should say somethin to this because people are still thumbing it up. If you guys haven’t noticed this isn’t a video to teach extreme beginners in crocheting, that is why in the very beginning of the video she tells you to watch the “learn how to crochet” video first. These video instructions are clearly for those who know the basic stitches of crocheting already, take her advice & watch the video that actually TEACHES you how to crochet before u watch this :P

  28. jessicawtc says:

    If you’re planning on doing this hat with a smaller needle than what she is using in the video, i recommend doing double crochet instead of single crochet :)

  29. sheena551 says:

    i really like this hat it is so easy to make thanks for the help

  30. clubpenguinrocksism says:

    i love the blanket in the background.plz make a video on it

  31. Elyzadoolittle says:

    Thx that’s the easiest hat ever

  32. enhancedwolf says:

  33. tkettle89 says:

    @Holmorama
    to keep track of how many stitches are in the row i just counted until i figured out that its basic math. for instance: if you have 40 stitches and add two stitches (instead of one) every fifth stitches then you will end up with 48 stitches in the end. because 40 divided by 5 is 8. you just added 8 stitches to your row making it 48 stitches around!

  34. tkettle89 says:

    @LeaveCCrockerAlone
    what she means is for every four stitches add two single stitiches to the one. so stitich one, stitch two, stitch three, then stitch stitch on four. you will only do this pattern twice on this row. you will know you did it right if you count sixteen stitches (or oops) all the way around. make sense?

  37. KaitlynHowardTV says:

    does she mean row 2 is the same as row 1 (2 single stiches in 1 stich) HELP!! I Realy want to make this!! need 12 of these hats by christmas!!! AHHH

  38. tealrabbit53 says:

    @shedisturbed do row 14, and 15, and so on untill it is the right size!! i’s commom sense!!! hope it works out :D

  39. Silveirta says:

    @shedisturbed 13 is A LOT of rows already so it shouldn’t be too small. But what type of yarn and hook are you using? That does make a big difference. If you wanna continue with what you have then just keep increasing rows until you’re satisfied.

  40. shedisturbed says:

    what if your crochet circle is still too small after 13 row :S??

  41. SGGosselin says:

    Hehe mines pointy

  42. jho1007 says:

    This is nice! Just wondering, could you make a tutorial on how to make fingerless gloves with a flap?

  43. yehjeaner says:

    hmm… whenever i try to make this hat it always comes out flat or waayy too big.. is it coz my head’s to small or did i make it wrong..?

  44. jaimie64 says:

    could you post up the instruction on either here, or on your site? I got lost and confused of which row to just single crochet or 2 single crochet

  45. Holmorama says:

    would help to get an indication to how wide it’s supposed to be when you have done so and so many rounds, and if it was a summery after each round, how many stitches should there be. Would really be of good use to beginners like me :)

  46. grapesoda2good says:

    someday i will be a great crocheting granny…

  47. lillian3241999 says:

    @smokey252 straightned it out everytime

  48. lillian3241999 says:

    @StudPiProductions watch there video on how to crochet
    its really helpful :)

  49. charly29ful says:

    I tried watching this and when I start the circle after doing the chain I have two loops. what do I do after that? Im confused about it all and how can you tell when to do the double crochet thing at the next row? do you know what Im talking about?

  50. amopo2011 says:

    I really, really, REALLY need to be explained to how you do a single crochet stitch in one stitch. It doesn’t make sense to me at all whatsoever.
